At Locavores Tacos and Tortillas, we feel food is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. Inspired by the diverse cultures and flavors of the South, our menu offers a unique fusion of Southern and Mexican flavors that bring together the best of both worlds. From our tortillas made with Louisiana sweet potatoes, to our local meats and vegetables, if we can feasibly get it locally, we will. We make all of our sauces and condiments in house, many of which are made with ingredients grown in our backyard. Whether you’re enjoying a freshly made taco with locally sourced ingredients or savoring our handmade sweet potato tortillas, every bite is a festival of flavor and craftsmanship.
Our story began with a simple idea: to create healthy, safe food for our daughter who was diagnosed with several anaphylactic food allergies at the age of 6 months. What started as simply making and documenting our family’s meals, blossomed into a food business sharing what we’ve learned: the best quality ingredients are the ones grown close to home. We cook with the seasons which is reflected in our rotating menu. We’re committed to sustainability, sourcing local produce whenever possible, and supporting our farmers and community.
